My girls reunited
We still can’t come up with a total number of years it has been since we’ve been together in one place.
But it happened tonight … I love these three women!
Back in the “old days”, spending time with these three gals filled most of my time. Beef and “D” (left & center) came along during my elementary school years. I am not kidding. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!!!
Smootie joined the group when she was in 8th grade. Beef, D and I were freshmen in high school.
Tonight we hit a Green Hills favorite for dinner and laughed our heads off. And we were LOUD. Not just a little. But a LOT LOUD.
D says that I talk differently now. That is so funny to me. She says I’m not as “southern” as I used to be. In fact, D kept saying, “come on wammie, lay some southern on me”. (D called me Pammie Wammie growing up … it turned into “wammie” or “wams” as time went by) It continues today.
D called my cell phone on my way home tonight - we talked another 20 minutes, reminiscing about life as it was. Life now as it is. This is just the beginning of catching up.
We’re trying our best to get together again this week. D lives in Albuquerque and is only here for a week. The rest of us are “Tennessee gals” and have figured out that a once-a-quarter gathering is required.
Somehow in the midst of the craziness of my life right now, I gained some sanity back tonight. While that seems a little hard to comprehend, I’ve been given a little “rest” through some wonderful reunited relationships. Girls, I love ya!

Isn’t it wonderful when you realize that though time has passed, you can pick up where you left off? Only better, because now you have deeper experiences to share with each other. I have a few friends like that, and reading your post tonight made me realize I haven’t talked to them in SO, SO long. I’m gonna email them tonight. Thanks Pamels!
Iam one very blessed lady. We truly are commiting to staying in touch. What great timing with my baby going off to college. Thanks for stopping by Marla!
I love this. I too feel the need to call up some old friends and drum up another reunion. Glad to see fun was had by all.
