Me: The Impatient Patient

I feel the pain

I feel the pain

I am rarely sick.  I mean EVER.  I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been sick in the last 10 years. Then in the last 24 hours a sinus headache has taken over the left side of my brain.

At 2:30am, I was awake.  Took an Aleve.  Woke up at 4:40am.  Took at Advil.  At 5:30am, I made the decision “I will not go into the office today”.  Even the thought of driving at the time made me ill.

Then, for the first time in years, I walked into what I used to lovingly call “doc in a box” to get some meds.  Surprising, I was treated by a professional nurse practitioner of 30 years.  Then, prescribed some meds and I was on my way in about 30 minutes.

And by testimony that I am painlessly writing this blog post,  I believe I am on my way to 100% healing.

Looks like Zyrtek-D is my new friend, too.   It did the trick and it’s an over the counter med – but be prepared that you just can’t walk up and buy the stuff.  You have to show an ID and give up your first-born for the pharmacy to hand it to you OTC.

Glad this little distraction lasted only 24 hours.  I am a pathetic and truly a very impatient patient.
