Wow – what a night

Posted: February 6, 2008 in Uncategorized

It was a long night for us all, wasn’t it?  I talked with so many people at work today who were up most of the night, dealing with the stormy weather and protecting their families …

I truly didn’t realize how bad it was just a couple of miles from my backyard.  It really sounded pretty rough, especially the third storm that blew through around 1:30am.    Co-workers shared loads of stories of damage, or stories like mine, who had family in other parts of the state.

Union University, an SBC college in Jackson, TN, had some major league damage.   I am so happy to report there were no fatalities there on campus – but SO many did not escape safely in other parts of the state.  I cannot believe 26 lost their lives in Tennessee alone.  My heart goes out to all of the families.

Somewhere in the middle of all of that last night, election returns were filing in.  But honestly, once we turned our TV over to the storm coverage, we never went back.  I literally found out about the election results online this morning at the office.

Hummmmm.    Now I see another storm brewing on the political scene.   It’s going to be an interesting six months!
