Cowboys and Cowgirls

I love Bill Mitchell. He leads our Connect Group. His wife Karen is a grand hostess each Wednesday we gather together. Bill has quite the way of communicating to us group members. He is funny in person. Then he always follows up our gatherings with an immediate email encouragement …

Tonight, we announced the addition of yet another Connect Group at our church. The Bill Mitchell group has grown so large that we’ve determined it best to give birth to another group that will meet a little further west, accommodating those of us who live “out there” past the big city.

Apparently, we’re getting far enough west that we’ve earned the title of “cowboys and cowgirls”. We already have several who will be joining us next Wednesday night at the Demaios’ home. If you have an interest in joining us, comment or email me and I’ll clue you in with some directions.

The group is also a great way to check out the UC for the very first time.

Tonight’s group at the Mitchell’s was a great example of the church being the church. I won’t break a confidence here, but allow me to say that God showed up in an awesome way, as we reached out to one of our newer families to the UC. Ministry happened. God was glorified. Encouragement was gained.

All of us left with a renewed sense of God’s power in our lives. And as we announced the “new group” that would begin meeting next week, there was such a feeling of blessing as we all recognized God’s movement within our church – growing us in a steady fashion through our mid-week gatherings.

What a great way to wrap up the day.

Now, my cowgirl self will get ready for a little roundup of my own that begins tomorrow. I’m taking my work team on a little retreat where I have NO DOUBT God plans to show up big-time. Lift up this time, which includes a wonderful couple of hours of leadership training, ministry and testimony from a dear friend who has agreed to guide one of our most important sessions.

Praise God for His awesome movement within the UC body today. And I give Him praise, in advance, for the next couple of days with the incredible men and women who join me around the business table at the office!!!
